Flip’s “Move More” Adventure

It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Leo was lying on the couch, eyes glued to his tablet. He had been playing his favorite game for… well, he wasn’t sure how long.

“Leo!” chirped a familiar voice. It was Flip, the little bird who always seemed to show up when something important needed to be learned.

“You’ve been sitting so long, I thought you’d turned into a statue!” Flip teased, fluttering onto the back of the couch.

Leo laughed. “I’m fine, Flip! I’m just playing my game.”

“Sure,” Flip said, “but did you know your body and brain get grumpy if you sit too much? Come with me—I’ll show you!”

Step 1 – The Sitting Spell

Flip whisked Leo to a magical place where time moved quickly.
Every time Leo sat in a chair, the “Sitting Spell” made him feel heavier, slower, and sleepier—like a bear in winter.
His neck felt stiff, and his shoulders bent forward.
“This,” Flip explained, “is what happens when we sit for too long.”

Step 2 – The Screen Fog

Next, Flip pointed to a swirling mist called “Screen Fog.”
It made Leo’s eyes tired, his head ache, and his bedtime harder to keep.
“Screen Fog tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime,” Flip said.
“That’s why you can’t sleep after a lot of screens.”

Step 3 – The Friendship Fade

Flip showed Leo a playground that used to be full of laughing friends.
But now it was empty.
“When we spend too much time on screens,” Flip explained, “we sometimes miss out on playing and talking with friends in real life.”

Step 4 – The Movement Magic

“Luckily,” Flip said with a wink, “there’s a cure—Movement Magic!”
Movement Magic wakes up your muscles, clears Screen Fog, and brings friends back to the playground.

Here’s Flip’s secret:

  • No more than 2 hours of ‘just for fun’ screen time a day

  • Move every 30–60 minutes

  • Mix it up—run, dance, play, stretch

Leo’s Challenge

That afternoon, Leo tried Flip’s tips.
During his game, he paused to stretch and march in place.
After lunch, he grabbed his bike and met friends outside.
By bedtime, he felt… happy, tired (in a good way), and ready for a deep sleep.

Flip flew by his window and called, “See? Movement Magic works!”

Leo grinned. “You were right, Flip. Sitting less makes life way more fun!”

Today’s Mini Challenge for You

Take a movement break right now—jump, stretch, or dance for 1 minute.
